Zoo Educator
Cameron Park Zoo’s Education Department is looking for a part-time Zoo Educator.
As a member of the Education Department, the Zoo Educator would be responsible for:
- Facilitating the Wild Nights program
- Facilitating the Zoo Snooze program and staying overnight at the Zoo
- Coordinating and training staff to work Snoozes and Wild Nights
- Setting up and working special events
- Teaching a session of Zoo School. Two Fridays of the month
- Assisting in the care of our Animal Ambassadors
- Handling other miscellaneous jobs as assigned
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Self-starter with good organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Google docs
- Willing to handle Animal Ambassadors, including reptiles and invertebrates
The Zoo Instructor position is part-time as scheduled by the Education Curator. You will be required to work at least one overnight program per week. Typical work week would be Thursday-Sunday, depending on the Programs scheduled. The Zoo Educator will have basic training for all programs. Pay is $15/hour.

Animal Ambassador Specialist
Cameron Park Zoo’s Education Department is looking for a full-time Animal Ambassador Specialist.
As a member of the Education Department, the Animal Ambassador Specialist would be responsible for:
- Care for Animal Ambassador collection, including diet prep, enrichment and exercising animals
- Presenting animals for education programs (both on and off-site)
- Maintaining records for Ambassador Animal collection
- Training animal handling to staff and volunteers
- Scheduling and implementing animal programs with Ambassador Animals
- Assist with evening education programs
- Setting up and working special events
- Teaching a session of Zoo School
- Handling other miscellaneous jobs as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Self-starter with good organizational skills
Good communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Proficient in Word, Excel, Google docs
Ability to handle all types of Animal Ambassadors, including reptiles and invertebrates
Willing to be trained in all animal areas
The Animal Ambassador Specialist position is full-time as scheduled by the Education Curator. Typical work week will be Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Pay is $17.50/hour.

Volunteer Coordinator
Cameron Park Zoo’s Education Department is looking for a full-time Volunteer Coordinator.
As a member of the Education Department, the Volunteer Coordinator would be responsible for:
- Recruitment, onboarding, and retention of all volunteers: Interns, Adult Volunteers, Zoo Crew (teen program), Group Volunteers, and Family Volunteers
- Coordinate with other departments to support the volunteer program
- Manage volunteer awards and events
- Assisting with Education Complex Rentals
- Scheduling and maintain Education Complex resources
- Setting calendar for Education Complex rentals
- Assisting with after hour fundraisers
- Assisting with education programs
Job Requirements:
