Adventure Camps
Children in K-6th grade can enjoy a wild adventure at the Cameron Park Zoo during our Spring Adventure Camp program. Campers will enjoy a week filled with amazing art projects, fun games, educational activities and animal encounters! Campers receive a Zoo Adventure Camp T-shirt and water bottle.
AGE GROUPS: Children are grouped together based on the grade in which they are currently enrolled. The age groups are: 1) K-2nd grade and 2) 3rd- 6th grade. Children will only be placed together if they are in the same age group as listed above and based on availability.
REGISTRATION AND FEES: Full Day camp (9:00 am - 4:00 pm) and Half Day camp (9:00 am - 12:00 pm) is available for these age groups. Full Day camp is $150/week for members and $180/week for non-members, and Half Day camp is $80/week for members and $100/week for non-members. Registrations will not be processed without payment; there will be no exceptions.
SUMMER ADVENTURE CAMP

(We offer Zoo Tales for children ages 3 to 5 years old and Keeper Shadowing Camp for students 12 years and up). One-week sessions are available June to August. Campers will enjoy a week filled with amazing art projects, fun games, educational activities and animal encounters! Campers receive a Zoo Adventure Camp T-shirt and water bottle.

Program Topics and Dates for Summer Adventure Camp 2010
Have you ever wanted to meet a Burmese python, African hedgehog, or an eclectus parrot? While attending zoo camp, students are able to see all of these animals and more. During the camps the students are able to get up close and personal with many of our education animals. Students who attend zoo camp will play games, make crafts, and go behind the scenes of Cameron Park Zoo. If your child loves animals and being outside then zoo camp is for them!
We have three different curriculums for our week-long camps that are for students entering K-6th grade:
- June 7-11 & July 19-23 Wild About Texas
- June 14-18 & July 26-30 Critter Competition
- July 5-9 & August 2-6 Amazing Asia
- ** NEW FOR 2010! ** June 28-July 2 Critter Competition - 7th and 8th graders ONLY!
(**A minimum of 10 participants is needed for this camp to be held!**)
Down and Dirty – Keeper Shadowing: This camp is for students 12 years and up. Go behind the scenes with Cameron Park Zookeepers and learn all about a day in the life of the animals. You’ll be working with zookeepers in the mammal, fish, bird, and reptile departments. This is a full day camp and is offered July 12-16.
Zoo Tales: This camp is for children ages 3 to 5. Learn about animals through books and art activities. You’ll also get to meet some of the Cameron Park Zoo education animals. This is a half day camp offered June 28-June 30. The cost for this camp is $50 for members and $80 for non-members.

SNOOZE Camp for 7th ~ 8th ~ 9th graders!
Have your teen spend a night at the zoo!
We are offering 4 different overnights for children entering 7th and 8th grade:
(Minimum of 10 campers per Snooze!)
- June 18 - Fins & Feelers and Brazos at Night
- July 9 - Creepy Crawlies (Herpetarium)
- July 23 - Brazos River Country
- July 30 - Roars and Snores
For children entering 9th grade: - July 16 - Roars and Snores
The cost is only $75 per camper. Each Snooze includes: dinner, breakfast, Snooze tee shirt, Zoo water bottle, Snooze patch, Behind the Scenes tour and admission to the zoo the following day!
** The children will be sleeping in the saltwater aquarium and amphibian building - boys and girls will be in separate areas.
