Adult Volunteers

Why We Need You
The zoo’s programs and activities would not be possible without volunteer support. Many wonderful volunteers help make our mission a reality. These special people, diverse in age, background and experience, are eager to learn more about the environment and how they can preserve and protect it.

We will be offering two new volunteer trainings per year.

Spring Applications:
Applications are due by January 18, 2019
Interviews will be conducted January 21-February 1, 2019
New Volunteer Training: Saturday, February 23, 2019

Fall Applications:

Applications are due by August 16, 2019
Interviews will be conducted August 19-30, 2019
New Volunteer Training: Saturday, September 21, 2019

Volunteer Application

General Requirements to Volunteer:

  • Completed application and interview
  • Signed Liability Release Form
  • Completed Background Check
  • Copy of Driver’s License on file
  • Proof of negative TB test on file
  • Must commit to one year of volunteering, minimum of 4 hours per month
  • Signed acknowledgement of receipt of Volunteer Guidelines and Contract
  • Training fee – $45.00
  • Completion of online training and attendance at training sessions
  • Completion of required observations
  • Cameron Park Zoo Membership
