Long Tentacle Anemone

Macrodactyla doreensis

This species lives on sandy ocean bottoms with its pedal disc and clumn deeply burrowed into the sand and attached to some buried object. Occasionally found on reefs or rubble, this species can get quite large, with a width of over 20 inches. Coloration varies from gray or bluish to pink.

Range: Southern Japan, Eastern Indonesia, New Guinea, Australia.
